The son of Azamour was second to subsequent Group 3 winner Koora on debut at Doncaster last August but failed to fire on his next run at Chester.

His owner Steve Parkin has been rewarded for his patience and Central Square looks set for a promising year based on this authorative success.

He was settled on the heels of the leaders by Andrea Atzeni and he raced slightly in snatches, not looking at 100% ease with Windsor's twists and turns.

Once on the straight, Central Square picked up well and ran on strongly to win going away by a length and a half.

Roger said: "That was a good performance carrying the weight against three-year-olds and I was impressed. He is a big horse who is sure to improve and I can see him progressing as the year goes on."
