The son of Azamour, owned by Steve Parkin, was given a strong ride by jockey Paul Mulrennan who produced him to perfection to win.

He was settled in the midfield by Paul where he travelled strongly in a race run at decent tempo. Central Square was first off the bridle, still showing signs of inexperience, but Paul gave him time to find his feet before producing him for his effort inside the final furlong.

He thrust through a gap on the inside and got up close to the line, winning by half a length.

Roger said: "Central Square is an improving four-year-old. He has shown a good attitude to win and we may look to step up in trip with him now."
