Chester specialist Calico Blue makes it a hat-trick over course and distance

Consistency is key and Calico Blue is yet to finish out of the placings in all seven of his career starts. The Calyx colt has always shown plenty of promise and was a dual winner as a juvenile last season. He's been in the frame on every start this year with two seconds and a creditable fourth in a competitive renewal of the Holyroodhouse Handicap at Royal Ascot last month. It's great to see him back at Chester and back in the winners' enclosure.

Calico Blue travelled prominently throughout the race and picked up nicely in the homestraight under jockey Ray Dawson to win readily.
