A daugher of Invincible Spirit, Beyond Desire was purchased by agent Johnny Mckeever for £55,000 at Doncaster Yearling Sales, for owner Steve Parkin.

At two, Beyond Desire, trained by Michael Jarvis, made all to win her debut at the prestigious Glorious Goodwood Festival in July.

She then went on to finish second to Lady of the Desert in the Lowther Stakes at York before ending her year with a fourth in the Firth of Clyde Stakes at Ayr.

Beyond Desire started her three-year-old campaign in the Cecil Frail Stakes at Haydock where again she showed tremendous speed to make all.

She then travelled to Leopardstown where she found only subsequent Prix de l' Abbaye winner Gild Edged Girl too good in a Group 3.

Unfortunately she was unwell on her return from Ireland and she struggled to find her form for the rest of the season.

She didn't win at four but she showed that she retained all her ability with a good second in the Group 3 Coral Charge at Sandown and also a close fourth in the Group 2 Audi Stakes at Glorious Goodwood.

Beyond Desire saved the best until this season where, as a five-year-old, she won twice including a Listed race at Bath and a Group 3 at Longchamp.

She finished a good fifith in the Group 1 Nunthorpe Stakes at York before bringing the curtain down on her career when running well from a terrible draw in the Prix de l'Abbaye at Longchamp.

It is fair to say that Beyond Desire has got quicker and quicker over the years and we ofter felt had there been races over four furlongs then she would have been a champion. She will be missed.

Roger said: "It has been a pleasure to train Beyond Desire for the past two seasons. She has been a solid performer at Stakes level and it is always hard to replace horses like her when they get retired.

"She has given us and her owner Steve Parkin and enormous amount of pleasure and fingers crossed her offspring are as talented and tough as she has been."
