The son of Lope De Vega earned an official rating of 119 for a striking victory in the Group 1 Dewhurst Stakes at Newmarket last October and that figure was high enough to secure this prestigious accolade.

Belardo carried the colours of Prince A A Faisal to three wins from five starts in 2014. Godolphin subsequently purchased a majority share int the colt following the Dewhurst Stakes and Sheikh Mohammed's operation were also responisble for the second-top rated colt of 2014 - Charming Thought- winner of the Middle Park Stakes.
