Beau Jardine continues winning form and makes it two wins from two starts whilst shouldering a penalty in the Witheford Barrier Trials At Lingfield Park Novice Stakes (Div II).

Shrugging off a 7lb weight disadvantage, Beau Jardine made all over the course and distance as he supplemented his debut success at Newmarket in October. Despite a difficult draw of stall 9, Beau Jardine broke sharply away and took up the lead in the early strides. Beau Jardine’s previous experience combined with the wealth of knowledge of jockey Andrea Atzeni, meant the pair were able to take control of the tempo throughout. Beau Jardine was shaken up two furlongs out by Chloholteen and pressed again by Rebel Territory in the closing stages, but the Make Believe colt found more than enough to see off any persistent challengers. Atzeni rode Beau Jardine under hand and heels to drive across the line ahead of the Amanda Perret trained Rebel Territory by ¾ L.

Congratulations to Opulence Thoroughbreds and the team. Beau Jardine’s continued success makes the 3YO colt an exciting prospect as a handicapper, as he is likely to come on yet again from this reappearance.
