Havin' A Good Time got the ball rolling when taking a 5f handicap at Lingfield under Andrea Atzeni. The daughter of Jeremy travelled well in behind runners before quickening up well when the gap came to win by a length and a half.

At Wolverhampton, our apprentice Jean Van Overmeire gained his first ever win when steering Emkanaat to victory in a 7f handicap. The son of Green Desert was perfectly placed throughout and responded well to Jean's urgings to win by a head.

Afraah secured the first win of her career in the mile maiden under Tadhg O'Shea. Sheikh Hamdan's filly is a half-sister to 1000 Guineas winner Ghanaati and Mawatheeq among others so it was vital that she got her head in front.

Roger said: "It's great to see the horses running well. Havin' A Good Time has plenty of speed and seemed much more at home on the fast ground than last time when it was soft at Ffos Las.

"It really was wonderful to see Jean ride his first win aboard Emkanaat. He gave the horse a great ride and hopefully that was the first of many winners he will ride.

"Afraah has come up against some decent sorts in her previous races and hopefully she can build on this win."
