The son of Hard Spun is a half-brother to Mutashaded, who finished third in the King Edward VII Stakes at Royal Ascot earlier this year.

The big chestnut has always shown up well in his homework and caught the eye when second on his racecourse debut at Newmarket in September.

He had to overcome unsuitably soft ground and a wide draw but won in convincing fashion under Sheikh Hamdan's retained rider, Paul Hanagan.

Roger said: "He is a lovely colt who should come into his own over a bit further next year. His action suggests that he will be better suited by faster ground and I thought he won well.

"He's got plenty of strengthening up to do so we'll probably put him away now."
