Group 3 Craven Stakes runner up, Avicenna, lines up in the first Classic of the season at Newmarket's Rowley Mile on Saturday
Avicenna will line up in Saturday’s Betfred 2000 Guineas following his fine staying-on second-place finish in the Group 3 Craven Stakes over the same course and distance last month.
A winner on his debut at Doncaster last August, the son of Starspangledbanner returned to the same track to take his record to two from two after winning the Listed Flying Scotsman Stakes a month later.
Avicenna has been drawn in stall eight of fifteen in the opening European Classic of the season, with Ray Dawson booked to take the ride.
As expected in Classic company, Avicenna will face several of last season’s top juveniles as the leading colts of their generation bid to claim Newmarket’s most coveted prize.
Wishing Owner's Godolphin the very best of luck!
