Carrying the colours of Mr Ajay Anne & Partner, the daughter of first-season sire Epaulette showed a willing attitude to prevail by a head under Andrea Atzeni, with the front two pulling two lengths clear of the third in a race which is likely to prove stronger form than the class six rating band would imply.

Breaking nicely from the stalls, Augenblick sat fifth in the early stages of the contest before being sent towards the cutaway approaching the final quarter mile. Andrea did not have to get too serious with his mount for her to quicken into the lead, and while she displayed signs of her inexperience when in front, she always looked like doing enough and proved a comfortable winner come the line.

A half-sister to two winners from the family of US stakes scorer Alyzig, Augenblick has the pedigree and scope to leave this form well behind in time and she looks a nice prospect moving forward.
