The son of Kodiac has been placed on all three of his starts to date and with an official rating of 88, we were very hopeful that this maiden was there for the taking.

Jockey Graham Lee tracked the pace and Atletico relaxed into a good rhythm. He looked a little caught for speed when the leaders quickened but Graham switched to the inner and Atletico came back on the bridle.

He took up the running with a furlong to run and ran on strongly to win by a length and a half.

Roger said: "Atletico has done nothing wrong and it was great to see him get his head in front. He looks as though seven furlongs will be well within his compass and I think there is more to come from him."

At Doncaster, we were delighted with both Tawwaaq and Muwaalah who both filled runner up positions in the 6f and 1m2f fillies' maiden.
