Labelled a ‘dream run’ DUSKY LORD’s return to the track after a 184-day break did not go unnoticed. Storming home in style to clinch the prize in the finale at Newmarket this afternoon under the talented David Egan.

The move down in trip to 5f from 6f last time out back in November at Chelmsford, combined with the stiff finish proved to be the perfect winning recipe for DUSKY LORD’s seasonal debut. Egan settled the 4YO into a steady stride in the initial stages, as the race progressed Egan made his move and Dusky Lord needing no second invitation, cruising up the rail to take up the running inside the final furlongs. Experience was put to good use as Dusky Lord continued to run on well to land the spoils in the FESTIVAL OF SUFFOLK CELEBRATION HANDICAP, 1 ¾ lengths ahead of runner up REBEL AT DAWN piloted by the double Guineas winning jockey James Doyle. Congratulations to winning owners of the Dusky Lord Partnership, Gerald Moss and connections. Dusky Lord will no doubt have benefitted from the run and after a se=successful 3YO season we look forward to seeing what more this son of Twilight Son can go onto do during his 4YO campaign.
