Stylistique's short but sweet trip to Dubai comes to an end in the next couple of days as Yvonne Jacques' filly is set to begin her second career is a broodmare with an exciting first cover.

The four-year-old's performances in the G2 Cape Verdi and G2 Balanchine more than justified the mid-winter jaunt to the UAE, returning with valuable black type and not far off £50,000 in prize money from those two useful efforts in fillies-only company. As in the Cape Verdi she just found one of the "home" Godolphin team too strong yesterday, being unable to reel in the gate-to-wire winner Summer Romance, a filly who is quite clearly capable of smart form when she's on a going day. The way the race was run benefitted the speedy winner with Stylistique and the others just unable to go with her as she quickened from the front off sedate fractions, but she showed a strong-willed attitude to maintain second place having looked like she could be swallowed up by the chasing pack a furlong from home. Huge thanks must go to travelling team Mick McGowan and Julia Gylbert for producing the filly in such excellent condition for both of her runs in Dubai.

A homebred daughter of Dansili out of the Oasis Dream mare Sleek, Stylistique retires from racing as a 3yo Listed winner who was G2-placed at both two and four-years-old. She joins Yvonne's broodmare band at Carisbrook Stud, and we very much look forward to seeing her future foals on the racetrack!
