AMEYNAH gets us off to a flying start during Craven week at Newmarket this afternoon. Finding another gear under David Egan to cruise home well clear of her rivals to land the prize in the Rossdales Maiden Fillies' Stakes.

Shaping well on debut over the same course and distance, AMEYNAH went one better to score in the opener of Newmarket this afternoon. Breaking well from stall 6 the 3yo filly travelled strongly in a prominent position throughout the 7f course and distance. Stepping up in gear to cruise into contention, picking up effortlessly to claim the prize with plenty in hand. ENSHRINE from William Haggas closest in contention in the runner up position 3 and ¾ lengths behind.

Congratulations to Sheikh Ahmed Al Maktoum and connections. AMEYNA’s victory providing Roger and the team a fifth win from the last ten running’s of this race. A daughter of Exceed and Excel she is bred to stay about a mile, and having proved herself a promising type today we can hope she could go one to hold her own in stronger company.
