The Thurloe Thoroughbreds-owned colt was fourth on debut at Haydock earlier this month and stepped up on that to win in style under Andrea Atzeni.

Andrea kept it simple on the 13/8 favourite, tracking the leader Dutch Robin before taking over the running with two furlongs to run. He quickened clear and had enough in hand to beat Quick Defence by a length.

Roger, who was saddling his first winner at the Sussex track, said: "It's great - he is a very likable horse. Very straightforward with a nice way of going.

"He'll stay a mile and should give his owners plenty of enjoyment."
