AL JOORY and KOSOMETSUKE make winning reappearances at Kempton.
Three-year-old Shadwell homebred AL JOORY got her career on the Southwell AW back in October and she put that experience to good use back on the AW at Kempton this afternoon. Racing over 7f she was quick away and raced prominently under Jack Mitchell. As they turned the home bend, Al Joory responded gamely when asked to quicken, running on gamely down the outside of the field to win by just under a length.
Congratulations to owner/breeders Sheikha Hissa and the Shadwell Stud team.

Later on the same card it was the turn of KOSOMETSUKE, last seen at Goodwood in October. The three-year-old son of Kodiac has since been gelded, and we were delighted to see him win on Handicap debut this afternoon. Racing over 7f for the first time, Kosometsuke travelled towards the rear of the field but produced a strong finish under Jack Mitchell to sweep up the outside in the final furlong and pass the post 1¼L ahead of Whizz By.
Congratulations to Richard and Stuart Marchant, Chris Fahy and Ahmad Bintouq.
