The daughter of Hard Spun won her maiden over course and distance last time and she backed that up with a game success under Dane O'Neill.

The pacesetters set a frantic early gallop and Dane was content to settle Afraah in the midfield.

She still travelled strongly rounding the final bend and made a challenge for the lead.

She was soon joined by the strong-travelling Saharia but that rival found little off the bridle and Afraah fought back to get her head in front on the line.

Roger said: "It is great to get another win out of this filly as she is bred in the purple and will be a lovely broodmare for Sheikh Hamdan."

Earlier in the evening, Horsted Keynes finished a nose second in the 7f maiden.
