Affwonn justified favouritism on his first racecourse appearance to win in quite taking style under Cameron Noble over the extended mile at Wolverhampton.

This three-year-old colt from the first crop of Free Eagle was never likely to run as a two-year-old, but a set back in the spring meant that his belated racecourse debut came right at the end of his three-year-old year. He certainly made up for lost time as he strode to a smooth success under Cameron Noble wearing down the long time leader Moohareeba who had the benefit of a run.

Affwonn is a half-brother to three winners, including the four-time winner Knowing Glance and his two-year-old full-brother Aratus won a 7f maiden at Kempton in November by 3¼l. Affwonn is likely to stay 10f in time and hopefully he can progress from this pleasing debut as a four-year-old in 2021.
