WECHAAD and MUNSIF land a double for the yard on the opening day of the Doncaster St Leger festival!
WECHAAD has been on the improve since his debut in May, most recently coming 2nd over 7f at Newbury. He put in a fine performance on Handicap debut at Doncaster this afternoon - pulling well clear of his rivals to claim the 7f contest by over 3 lengths.
Congratulations to Sheikh Ahmed Al Maktoum.
Much the best!

Later on the same card it was the turn of Shadwell's MUNSIF who took his record to three-from-five, landing the final race on the card in a thrilling finish. Stepping up to 1m4f for the first time, Munsif raced in midfield under Ray Dawson before making headway 2f from home. In the final furlong a battle ensued between Munsif and Stuart Williams' Crowd Quake, but Munsif battled on bravely to get up and win by a head.
Congratulations to Sheikha Hissa and the Shadwell Stud team.
A thriller to close day one at the @Betfred St Leger Festival!
