ENFJAAR and INDEMNIFY land a Varian Stable double, in their respective contests at Chelmsford and Sandown.

A winner last autumn on his only start at two, Shadwell Stud’s ENFJAAR entered his three-year-old career with plenty of untapped promise, and he backed that up today with a stylish performance in the 1m Novice Stakes at Chelmsford. Shaken up off the home bend by jockey David Egan, the Lope de Vega colt took a short while to get rolling, but once he did there was no stopping him as he cruised on for an eye-catching 6L win.

Congratulations to Shadwell Stud and Sheikha Hissa.

We were delighted also to see Yvonne Jacques’ Carisbrook Stud homebred INDEMNIFY in the winners enclosure on his seasonal debut. A consistent performer last season until his final start, the four-year-old returns to the track following a gelding operation and looked to leave plenty to look forward to for the season ahead, getting up well under Ray Dawson to prevail by over a length.

Congratulations to connections.
