Patience was rewarded this evening, as four-year-old YAANAAS made an eye-catching winning debut at Newcastle.

The son of Ulysses travelled prominently under Jim Crowley, shadowing race-favourite Roaring Legend. As the 2f marker loomed, he cruised up to challenge for the lead, easing away under hands and heels in the final furlong for a comfortable victory.

YAANAAS was a 320,000gns Tattersalls Book 1 buy, bred by Cheveley Park Stud out of Troarn, a full-sister to Champion Three-Year-Old Almanzor. A pedigree with promise aplenty, and so it was pleasing to see him deliver on some of that promise this evening!

Congratulations to connections, Shadwell Stud and Sheikha Hissa.
