KODIMAN presented himself as a strong physical (a very deep girth coupled with a strong shoulder and a powerful quarter). His make, shape and pedigree suggest that he should make up into a late summer 2YO. He fits what we were looking for exactly i.e. a type of horse who offers up 2YO precocity, but has enough size and scope to also consider him a longer term project too. KODIMAN (IRE) was purchased for £57,750.00 from the Tattersalls December Yearling Sales of 2021. His dam Manaahil was placed twice as a 3YO. Manaahil is by the multiple G1 winning phenomenon Dubawi, who needs no introduction as his elite reputation is evident throughout the success of his progeny: The sire of the world’s top-rated horse of 2020 and the most successful British Stallion in Pattern history.
If Manaahil’s sire pedigree isn’t impressive enough, Manaahil is a sister to French 1m2f (2yo) and 1m4f winner Mushawweq. Her dam Mudaaraah is a 6f/7f 2yo winner including a Listed win at Sandown in her 2yo campaign, reaching a top rating of 105.
KODIMAN's sire Kodi Bear, by the champion stallion Kodiac, is the second leading First Season Sire in Great Britain and Ireland (by individual winners and prize money). In addition he has five Stakes performers to his name including Cobh, Measure Of Magic and Mystery Angel. A high class miler with his most notable performances being runner-up in the G1 Dewhurst and won the G2 Celebration Mile as a 3YO.
