BRAVE EMPIRE bounces back to winning ways at Lingfield and LAS RAMBLAS makes a winning debut at Newcastle.

BRAVE EMPIRE enjoyed a successful juvenile season, winning two of his three starts, and we were delighted to see him return to the winners enclosure this afternoon at Lingfield, coming on nicely from his seasonal reappearance at Newcastle. The Dark Angel colt took up the rail from stall 1, and raced in midfield through the former stages of the 6f contest. As they rounded the home bend, David Egan nipped up the inner and sent him for home. The pair had to fight for it, with strong challenges from Roman Emperor and Blue Prince, but it was BRAVE EMPIRE who held on at the line.

Congratulations to connections, Mr Steve Parkin and Clipper Logistics.

Later on in the evening, it was the turn of the three-year-old Lope De Vega colt LAS RAMBLAS, who made his racecourse debut at Newcastle. The 250,000gns Book 1 buy from Newsells Park Stud raced keenly early on, before settling nicely in midfield in the hands of Raul Da Silva. 2f from home he began to make headway, weaving his way through the field to challenge the leaders up the nearside. LAS RAMBLAS kept on gamely, wearing Haggas' Waleefy and Fahey's Parthenopaeus down in the final half furlong to pass the post a head in front.

Congratulations to connections, Ballylinch Stud.
