Owned by Mr Yasushi Kubota, Realtra won the Brownstown Stakes at Fairyhouse in July and she made a second successful raid across the Irish Sea when getting the better of the Jessica Harrington-trained Drumfad Bay by a length and three-quarters.

Ridden once again by the title-challenging Colin Keane, Realtra sat mid-division having been drawn widest of all in stall 12 and she managed to find some cover as the early gallop proved a generous one.

The field fanned across the width of the track as the leaders turned for home, with Realtra and hot favourite Music Box coming towards the stand-side rail as the pace began to collapse inside the final quarter mile.

While the challengers on the far-side looked to still hold the advantage approaching the last furlong, Realtra’s grey head came with rare whistle on the other side of the track, swooping into the lead at the business end and winning cosily come the line.

Realtra’s career record now stands at an impressive eight wins from 24 starts, with her hat-trick of Pattern successes accompanied by victory in the All-Weather Championships Fillies’ And Mares’ Final at Lingfield on Good Friday.

Realtra’s win was the second leg in an across-the-card double for the Varian Stable team, with Aljuljalah having landed the valuable seven-furlong fillies’ conditions race at Chelmsford earlier in the afternoon.

Roger said: “Realtra has been a remarkable performer this season and she has really vindicated the patience afforded to her by Mr Kubota. Defying a penalty was no mean feat here and we might give her one final tilt at Group 1 company before the season draws to a close.”
