Owned by Steve Parkin’s Clipper Logistics operation, the daughter of Dubawi won a pair of novice contests at Bath earlier in the season prior to acquitting herself with credit in competitive Listed company at Napoli in July.

Returning from a two-month break and beginning life in handicaps off a mark of 83, Queen Of Desire travelled strongly under Jack Mitchell before quickening up to lead inside the final furlong, readily accounting for the Chris Dwyer-trained Arzaak by a length and a half.

A homebred first foal out of G3 Prix De Saint-Georges winner Beyond Desire, Queen Of Desire suggested she might be capable of replicating the high level of form shown by her dam with this success and she clearly relishes a fast five furlongs on top of the ground.

At Kempton’s evening fixture, fellow homebred Ideological made a successful debut in the fillies’ novice auction contest under David Egan.

A 12,000 guineas buy-back at Book 2 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale, Ideological races in the colours of Tactful Finance Limited and she overcame evident signs of her inexperience to mow down the Karl Burke-trained Little India by a length and three quarters, going away at the finish in the manner of a filly with a future.

Roger said: “Queen Of Desire keeps improving and she relishes those conditions. The way she quickened up here suggests she could develop into a stakes-class filly. Ideological got the hang of things late and was comfortably on top at the line. There should be a good bit more to come from her as she continues to learn her job.”
