THE team at Kremlin House are delighted that Group 1 winner Nahrain is set to remain in training as a four-year-old this season.

A daughter of Selkirk, Nahrain did not race at two but won four of her five races as a three-year-old. She won on her debut at Windsor before taking a handicap at Haydock and a Listed race at Sandown in July. She then stepped up to Group 1 company for the Prix de l’Opera at Longchamp where she showed a tremendous attitude to win by a nose under Frankie Dettori.

In November she travelled to the Breeders’ Cup at Churchill Downs where, despite losing her unbeaten record, she performed with enormous credit to finish a close second in the Filly and Mare Turf.

Roger said: “Nahrain hasn’t been back in that long and we are taking things slowly with her. There is no need to rush her back to the track as there aren’t too many options for older fillies early on in the year with most of the suitable races being from mid-summer onwards.

“She also had a long trip to Churchill Downs in November and we were keen to give her a long winter break to get over it.

“She is back cantering now and looks a stronger model this year. She is moving nicely and I’m very happy with her.”
