The son of Montjeu was sent to Roger last summer having had one run in maiden company a year ago.

Niggling problems kept him off the track for the remainder of the season but the Hay's were patient and he made a winning return in a 1m4f maiden as a four-year-old.

Jockey Jamie Spencer got stuck on the infamous A14 but fortunately Andrea Atzeni, who rides work for the stable, was on hand to step in.

He gave his inexperienced mount the perfect ride, settling him just behind the leaders and giving him plenty of time to find his feet.

The pacesetters kicked for home over 3F out but Andrea didn't panic and let Kuda Huraa lengthen, gradually reeling in the leaders.

He took over the running entering the final furlong and went on to win by a length and a quarter.

The winning jockey said: "He was very switched off and picked up well. He'll only improve and I think he will be a better horse on the grass."
