Chesnut filly by Bated Breath / Affluent (Oasis Dream). Purchased at the Goffs UK Yearling Sale for £75,000. This filly is from a speedy family; her dam was a winner over 5f and is the half-sister high-class sprinter Deportivo and the six-time winner So Beloved who won at G3 level and was beaten half a length in the G1 Prix de la Foret. Her half-sister, Aspirant, was a three-time winner from 5f-7f.

Daahyeh added to her impressive debut victory at Newmarket with success on the big stage at Royal Ascot in the G3 Albany Stakes to provide David Egan with his first victory at the Royal Meeting. She came up against the G2 Queen Mary winner on her next start at the July Meeting where she was beaten a 1 3/4 lengths into second position. She travelled to Ireland for her fourth start in the G1 Moyglare Stud Stakes where she ran a very commendable race to finish second, beaten 3/4 length by Love. She was back to winning ways with an authorative display in the G2 Rockfel Stakes, holding off the challenge of her stable mate Stylistique and two other fillies on her inside.

Daahyeh finished her two-year-old season with a tilt at the G1 Breeders' Cup Fillies Juvenile Turf. She was a very commendable second having just lost her position slightly at halfway, and it's difficult not to wonder what might have been had things panned out even a tiny bit differently. She heads into the winter a G2 & G3 winner alongside two G1 places and should she be sound and healthy we look forward to the first weekend of May with her.
